Job Description

The Academic Quality Department plays a key role in maintaining the University’s academic quality and standards by implementing the University’s Academic Development Plan. You will bring knowledge and experience for the implementation of the academic quality assurance and enhancement activities, using data reporting and evaluation to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders and ensure that academic quality processes and interventions are evidence-led.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the management and implementation of Academic Quality initiatives, ensuring alignment with university strategy and external policies.
  • Evaluate key initiatives using data to drive forward academic quality.
  • Deliver University level analysis to identify risks, providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Offer advice and guidance on interpreting and applying the University’s Regulatory Framework, covering areas such as:
  • Designing and approving programs
  • Student conduct and academic progress
  • Assessment practices and exam board procedures
  • External examining
  • Student appeals and complaints
  • Monitoring programs annually

 

What we are looking for

  • Experience in an academic or professional service setting focused on quality assurance and/or strategic planning in higher education, whether within a higher education institution or a professional or regulatory body.
  • Project management skills
  • An understanding of the frameworks for quality assurance in higher education in the UK and specifically that of the OfS/QAA/Ofsted.
  • Experience of providing advice to committees and senior officers.
  • The ability to work in a team and be adaptable to the need of changing priorities and timescales
