Actuarial Coach
Location: Remote (option to come into BPP office/Abingdon)
Salary: £60,000- £74,000
Contract: Permanent
Job Purpose
To provide coaching and support to actuarial apprentices, primarily via Microsoft Teams with occasional face-to-face contact, and to liaise with their line managers to ensure they complete the requirements of their apprenticeship on time. The role will also include regular reviewing / assessing of the apprentices’ work-based evidence and helping them to prepare for the apprenticeship end-point assessment.
What you will be doing
- Arranging introductory meetings with the apprentices and their line managers to explain the programme and ensure smooth onboarding
- Providing regular coaching support to apprentices
- Reviewing / assessing of the apprentices’ work-based evidence
- Reporting to line managers and employers on apprentice progress
- Preparing the apprentice for the end-point assessment
- Providing other support towards completing apprenticeship requirements for example exam coaching, marking, tutoring
- Raising safeguarding concerns with the BPP Safeguarding team
- Working with BPP’s Quality Assurance Team to ensure all internal and external quality assurance requirements and documentation requirements are met within BPP defined timescales
What we are looking for
- Qualified actuary (Fellow or Associate of IFoA)
- Ability to motivate (eg if the apprentice is falling behind)
- A good awareness and understanding of the role of an actuarial technician, actuarial analyst, or trainee (or similar actuarial student roles)
- Ability to work as part of a wider team working remotely
- Ability to communicate professionally and work closely with and support all stakeholders
