 As we continue to expand, we are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our Apprenticeship Services Department as an Apprenticeship Services Advisor. You will play a key role in supporting prospective learners and employers through the application, enrolment and onboarding processes.

 

Using a structured set of criteria, you will conduct skills scans and ask targeted questions to assess an individual's suitability for the chosen apprenticeship programme, applying sound professional judgement when making recommendations.

 

This is a learner-centric role with a consistent schedule of appointments, ideal for someone who enjoys structure and working with established processes.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Act as a point of contact for potential learners by supporting and advising on pharmacy related matters
  • Support the enrolment and onboarding of new learners onto pharmacy apprenticeship programmes
  • Carry out Skills scans, advise on placements, assess eligibility based on prior qualifications and assess workplace suitability
  • Advise on suitability of training plans and support with tailoring them to meet the needs of individuals and employers, whilst ensuring they meet apprenticeship requirements
  • Review screening results and advise employers on suitability/additional support training, prior to or alongside, the apprenticeship programme
  • Review any concerns on Fitness to Practise declarations screened by Casework Screening Teams and refer to the Fitness to Practise committee where appropriate.
  • Liaise with Buttercups Teams to raise concerns to employers, where appropriate
  • To undertake additional reasonable duties by supporting other departments across Buttercups when required

 

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Sound knowledge of the GPhC Standards for the initial education and training of pharmacy technicians
  • Ability to confidently assess suitability of potential learners and use sound professional judgment
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • An ability to influence and motivate employers and learners
  • Highly organised with the ability to work through a structured task list
  • An understanding of the current roles and responsibilities of pharmacy technicians and support staff across different sectors of pharmacy
  • Prior experience training/mentoring others within an educational setting would be advantageous
