Due to continued growth, we’re excited to introduce a brand-new opportunity for an experienced, proactive and detail-oriented Attendance & Engagement Officer to join our team.

This learner-facing role is perfect for someone who thrives on taking initiative, acting with urgency, and making a real difference. You’ll play a key part in championing our learners, spotting trends, and confidently suggesting process improvements that will enhance student attendance and engagement.

What you’ll be doing

The Attendance & Engagement Officer will play a key role in boosting learner attendance and engagement across all core programmes, working closely with tutors and wider support teams to remove barriers and help learners reach their full potential.

 As such, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Contacting learners and Workplace Training Supervisors (WTSs) promptly regarding absences or lateness, to establish reason(s) and set expectations for attendance
  • Conducting calls with learners / WTSs to address barriers to attendance
  • Developing and implementing engagement strategies to improve learner attendance
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records using our internal systems
  • Analysing attendance data to identify patterns, trends, and areas of concern
  • Producing regular reports in line with business requirements, to enable data driven decisions
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures that relate to attendance
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for attendance monitoring and referral pathways
  • Ensuring processes are working effectively and driving the required outcomes  

 

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Prior experience working in an educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse data and produce actionable insights
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality requirements
  • Empathetic and approachable with a learner-centred mindset
  • Highly organised and able to manage own workload
  • An understanding of barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of funding and compliance requirements related to attendance would be beneficial
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, in particular excel

 

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
