Digital Platforms Team Lead

 

Here at BPP Education Group our Digital Product Management team is dedicated to providing a world class service and are responsible for the development and delivery of learning platforms and learning/assessment resources across the wider group.

 

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic individual to join the team as a Digital Platforms Team Lead. You will be responsible for ensuring that on-line content for our learners and students is provided in a timely, complete and accurate manner.

What you’ll be doing

 

In this role you will be responsible for the management of online services to our students and learners, and supporting the Digital First strategy.

 

As such, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Supporting with the continuous development of the VLE, including implementing new features and integrating new course building features into internal procedures 
  • Working collaboratively with subject matter experts, client management teams and heads of programmes to develop and implement solutions for key client requirements 
  • Create and maintain course build schedules to ensure the team are able to deliver products on time 
  • Monitoring queries in mailboxes/query management systems and ensuring response within SLA
  • Effectively manage/monitor the teams performance using VLE dashboard 
  • Assist management with hiring processes and new team member training 
  • Coach and improve team members 
  • Creating and updating new products on the BPP VLE systems (Moodle/Totora) 
  • Ensure all Totora processes are refined and documented 
  • Advising on and supporting implementation of learning resources within the Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle/Totora) 
  • Leading on change management in this area by delivering training and key communications to the business 
  • Create and maintain Totora/Moodle/Ruby user profiles including roles and permissions for both students and staff

 

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

  • A strong leader that can clearly and concisely communicate goals and tasks
  • Able to motivate the team and encourage productivity and passion for the job
  • Management/supervisory experience
  • Lateral thinker with a logical approach to tasks and problems
  • Ability to cope with conflicting demands and to prioritise tasks
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Work well within a team to solve problems collectively, making suggestions and using other people's ideas and advice
  • An excellent working knowledge of Moodle/Totora
  • An excellent working knowledge of assets such as:  
    • Panopto videos
    • SCORM files and bridge assignments
    • e-assessments
    • PDF's
    • Moodle/Totora quizzes
  • A good understanding of HTML/CSS
  • Highly digitally literate and passionate about Digital Learning

 

How will this process work?

The interview process for this position will consist of the following stages:

  • Initial assessment based around prioritising tasks and communication
  • Competency style interview with two team members – 60 minutes
