Freelance Management Tutor - Retail

Job Introduction

BPP School of People and Skills Development is recruiting for a freelance tutor specialising in Retail management. The role will support the delivery of management apprenticeship programmes at level 3 & 5, positioning the content and its application to those working within the retail sector. We are therefore looking for highly motivated tutors with experience of managing within a retail environment.

What you’ll be doing 

You will be responsible for:

  • Effectively plan for lessons and consider how key quality themes will be embedded whilst ensuring leader led / engaging session. 
  • Provide and apply retail specific scenarios to the learning content of the programme to ensure that learners can make meaningful links between practice and theory. 
  • Encourage a flipped learning approach and build on knowledge as learners progress through their apprenticeship programme. 
  • Communicate with the relevant BPP teams to ensure that any student support queries are addressed and feedback on design is captured. 
  • Ensure high quality and consistent teaching through the provision of detailed lesson briefs and support from the teaching team.  
  • Regularly review your live teaching feedback from learners and the teaching team and consider how you can continue to develop. 
  • Ensure CPD is kept up to date and you are familiar with BPP’s quality requirements. 
  • Be willing to participate in Ofsted inspections (sessions may be subject to observation). 

 

What experience you’ll need

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Minimum Level 5 Management Qualification
  • Significant experience of managing within a Retail environment (middle or senior level)
  • Experience supporting the learning and development of others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • The ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise workload
  • The ability to work well in a team and be collaborative
