Job Description

If you’ve spent at least two years in a busy admin role, whether in HR, finance, recruitment, customer service, or any environment where you’ve managed shared mailboxes, handled spreadsheets, and worked with multiple stakeholders you could be a great fit.

This is a busy operational role, and while training and support are provided, you’ll be expected to take ownership of tasks quickly, make sensible decisions, and manage competing priorities with confidence.

What you’ll be doing You’ll provide efficient, accurate HR support across the entire employee lifecycle, including:

Onboarding

· Issue contracts of employment and complete pre-employment checks (right-to-work, DBS, credit, professional qualification, references, etc).

· Keep new starters and hiring managers updated at every stage.

· Set up new starter records in the HR system and raise IT tickets.


HR Operations

· Manage the HR mailbox — respond, re-assign, or escalate queries promptly.

· Process contractual changes, family-friendly leave, and annual leave calculations.

· Manage offboarding: issue leaver letters, update records, send exit surveys, and close systems access on time.

Essential skills and experience

· 2+ years’ experience in a high-paced administration role.

· Proven ability to manage a high volume of requests, prioritise effectively, and keep work on track without constant supervision.

· Able to follow defined processes while also applying judgement in non-standard or complex cases, escalating appropriately where needed.

· Strong Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook (mail merges, formulas, and data formatting).

· Tech-savvy and keen to explore AI tools to improve processes.

· Excellent organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.

· Comfortable working with confidential information.

This fixed-term role offers exposure to a wide range of HR operational processes during a period of growth and change, with the opportunity to make a real impact on how the service operates.


Please note: the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Basic DBS check.
