Due to our continued success and expansion, we are now introducing a brand-new leadership role as our Head of IT in North America. This is the first role of its kind in the region, offering a rare opportunity to shape how technology enables our strategy, supports our people, and drives performance.

About the Role

You will establish strong working relationships with the North American senior leadership team and equally strong working relationships with the Group Technology leadership teams, playing a central role in bringing strategic leadership to IT while helping accelerate digital transformation across our North American operations.

Working closely with our Digital Transformation Lead, you will help embed digital technologies and AI across our platforms, programmes, and internal operations, ensuring we continue to lead with innovation in how we operate, and how learning is delivered and experienced for our students.


What you will be responsible for

  • Shaping and delivering the regional IT strategy and roadmap, aligned to global priorities and long-term growth
  • Providing senior IT leadership across North America, acting as a trusted advisor to regional leadership
  • Overseeing day to day IT operations, ensuring resilience, scalability, and a high-quality user experience
  • Leading, mentoring and managing regional IT resources, including third party vendors and service providers
  • Driving the delivery of IT and digital transformation initiatives in collaboration with global teams and the Project Management Office
  • Building strong relationships with global technology leadership teams to leverage expertise, capability and shared solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory requirements, aligned to global standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST
  • Strengthening cyber resilience by working closely with Group Information Security teams
  • Embedding consistent processes, controls and ways of working while adapting for regional requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and impact through technology and innovation

 

What you bring

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or other relevant fields of study
  • Extensive experience in a senior IT leadership role, ideally within a global or multi-site environment
  • Proven track record of delivering complex IT and digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of modern digital ecosystems, including cloud, collaboration platforms, and emerging AI capabilities
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure, networks, systems management, and vendor ecosystems
  • Strong experience managing third party providers and strategic partners
  • Sound knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or equivalent
  • Commercial acumen, including budget ownership and cost optimisation
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technology into business value
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Analytical, forward thinking, and solutions focused mindset
