Job Purpose
BPP, backed by TDR Capital, is a leader in the UK higher education and professional training sector, empowering people worldwide to build and transform their careers. Over the past three years, BPP has accelerated its growth through multiple acquisitions and successful entry into the Canadian and Australian markets, establishing a truly international footprint. With a bold digital and technology agenda and a clear vision for internationalisation, BPP is shaping the future of education by combining academic excellence with cutting edge innovation.
BPP is creating a new PMI Director role to lead the end-to-end integration of acquired companies into the Group. This role will play a critical part in ensuring acquisitions deliver maximum value and are integrated smoothly across all functions and geographies.
The successful candidate will own and manage integration programmes with an initial focus on Canada and Australia, while also building a scalable integration playbook and repeatable processes that can be applied to future acquisitions.
This is a high-impact, externally facing role requiring strong cross-functional collaboration, execution discipline, and the ability to manage complex projects at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Integration Leadership
- Lead the full lifecycle of post-merger integration (PMI) programmes for acquired companies, from Day 1 planning through to execution and stabilisation.
- Ensure seamless alignment of people, processes, technology, and culture between acquired companies and BPP.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for integration programmes, ensuring milestones are achieved and value realisation is tracked.
- Playbook & Process Development
- Design and build a best-practice PMI playbook to serve as a Group-wide standard for future integrations.
- Establish integration methodologies, governance, tools, and reporting mechanisms.
- Continuously refine and improve the integration approach based on lessons learned.
- Programme Management
- Develop detailed integration plans, including scope, timelines, resource requirements, and key success measures.
- Drive execution across multiple functions (Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Operations, etc.) to ensure smooth integration.
- Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies, providing solutions and escalating where necessary.
- Deliver clear, regular progress updates to the Chief of Strategy, Executive Team, and other senior stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with leadership teams in acquired companies as well as BPP functional leads.
- Act as a trusted advisor and integration partner to senior stakeholders in Canada and Australia, ensuring alignment of priorities and expectations.
- Provide transparent communication and change management support throughout the integration process.
- Value Creation
- Track and report on synergy realisation and integration outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for additional value creation post-acquisition.
- Support strategic decisions on future acquisitions by feeding back learnings into BPP’s M&A process.
Skills, experience & qualifications required - Essential
- Vast experience, with significant expertise in post-merger integration (PMI), corporate development, or large-scale transformation programmes.
- Proven track record of leading complex integrations across multiple geographies, ideally including Canada and/or Australia.
- Strong programme management experience, with the ability to coordinate across functions and deliver large-scale initiatives.
- Deep understanding of M&A processes, including Day 1 readiness, integration planning, and value realisation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior executives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a structured approach to execution.
- Experience in education, professional services, or knowledge-based industries desirable but not essential.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
