Job Purpose:

To manage quality delivery and learner support of all Banking Apprenticeship Programmes (Senior Financial Services Customer Advisor Level 3, and Mortgage Advisor Level 3), including the activities outlined below. The Performance Manager will focus on the line management of the banking coaches, be involved in quality assurance of coaching and assessment, learner support and EPA (End Point Assessment) strategy.

 

Principal Job Elements and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

Team Management

  • Line manage and support the team of banking coaches, encouraging an ethos of teamwork, sharing of good practice and continuous professional development.
  • Conduct fortnightly 121 meetings and Professional Career Discussions with individual Coaches.
  • Undertake Monthly Caseload Reviews with each coach, with particular focus on apprentices with limited and insufficient progression, and overdue completions.
  • Support induction and training of new coaches.
  • Support the Programme Leader in managing the delivery of Banking apprenticeships in accordance with the School’s management procedures and guidelines.

 

Delivery

  • Support the Programme Leader in reviewing and signing off proposed learning plans for the programmes.
  • Ensure active learning is taking place for all apprentices.
  • Support on delivery of induction and webinars as agreed with the Banking Programme Leader.
  • Work collaboratively with Client Services teams and Account/Relationship Managers as required.
  • Review data reports on a weekly basis identifying actions for the team and escalate concerns to the Programme Leader as appropriate. Produce reports to key stakeholders as required.
  • Be the point of escalation for the coaching team when Learner Progress policy is instigated.
  • Support learners as required.
  • Work closely with the Programme Leader and Head of Programme in relation to continuous improvement of programmes and processes.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Work alongside Lead IQA Coach to undertake quality assurance of Coaches including evaluation of marking, reviews of progress review write-ups and checks on learner folders, as required.
  • Support Management Observation of Coaches in progress reviews and track and monitor coach developmental action plans alongside the Lead IQA Coach, as required.
  • Work with banking coaches to ensure that the BPP Progress Tracker is up to date.
  • Maintain understanding of Ofsted requirements in the delivery of apprenticeship programmes.

 

End Point Assessment (EPA)

  • Understand the end point assessment strategy for programmes.
  • Set an effective delivery and assessment strategy alongside the Programme Leader and Lead EPA Coach to adequately prepare apprentices for EPA.
  • Support the relationship with the EPA provider, ensuring all learner records up to date.
  • Instil effective instruction, support and simulation to give apprentices the best chance of success at EPA.

 

Skills, experience & qualifications required:

Essential

  • Experience of coaching apprentices up to Level 3
  • Experience supporting apprentices through End Point Assessment
  • Experience providing feedback, training and support to direct reports or colleagues
  • Previous experience of working with clients to deliver collaborative and high quality programmes

 Desirable

  • Experience of adhering to apprenticeship compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting Banking apprenticeships including CBI/LIBF qualifications
  • Relevant Banking/Mortgage industry experience and/or qualifications
  • Line Management experience of Apprenticeship Coaches
  • Previous IQA/quality assurance experience and/or appropriate IQA qualifications
  • Experience delivering online/face to face training
  • Appropriate Coaching Qualification

 

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
