Main Purpose of the Job

The Programme Lead is accountable for ensuring their Level 3 and Level 4 Data programme delivers industry‑relevant, up‑to‑date learning that is directly applicable to current and future workforce practice, while being underpinned by BPP’s value proposition of amplifying the power of people. The role goes beyond ensuring compliance with apprenticeship standards, taking a proactive approach to designing and maintaining learning that extends beyond the minimum apprenticeship requirements, ensuring apprentices are prepared for change in real‑world practice, progression, and long‑term career success.

The postholder will lead the development, enhancement, and ongoing evolution of programme content, ensuring it reflects new technologies and emerging skills needs. This includes embedding modern tools, delivery approaches, and employer insight gathered through client engagement and training needs analysis discussions, so that learning remains relevant, current, and applicable in the workplace.

Blending programme ownership with robust quality assurance responsibilities, the Programme Lead will ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across all delivery teams. They will provide expert programme guidance and monitor programme performance and learner outcomes to drive continuous improvement.

The Programme Lead will work closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure the programmes unique strengths, differentiators, and outcomes are clearly communicated to an external audience. This includes shaping the programme story, contributing to marketing materials, and ensuring external messaging accurately reflects the curriculum, learner experience, and value of the programme to employers and apprentices.

Working collaboratively across training, delivery, and employer‑facing teams, the Programme Lead will champion innovation and a high‑quality learner experience. Through activities such as standardisation and programme review, the role ensures apprentices complete the programme not only meeting assessment requirements, but with the practical skills, confidence, and readiness needed to succeed in a fast‑changing industry.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, collaborative self‑starter with strong technical expertise in the programme domain and a commitment to maintaining rigorous quality standards while enabling an excellent learner experience.

  • Produce articles and contribute to podcasts for the Digital Edge Enrichment Programme that showcase how emerging technologies are embedded within your programme curriculum and delivery.
  • Test and review new or updated training materials prior to full rollout, ensuring they are fit for purpose and aligned to the curriculum intent.
  • Deliver teaching on the programme where appropriate, with the level of delivery activity proportionate to the size and maturity of the programme and balanced alongside programme leadership.
  • Undertake other duties as required to support the effective delivery and performance of the programme.
