Job Introduction
Job purpose:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Academic Administer to oversee the management and coordination of assessment processes within our educational institution.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of assessment activities, from setting up portals and managing rubrics to coordinating marking and moderation processes. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a deep understanding of assessment policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Assessment Portals and Processes: Lead and support with the creation and maintenance of assessment portals, manage rubrics, develop marksheets, assign marking tasks, and coordinate marking and moderation activities, including reviews by External Examiners (EE).
- Log and Track Reports: Record EE reports in the appropriate tile, log and save DC tests (moderation and EE), and maintain accurate records of assessment activities.
- Extensions and Exceptional Circumstances: Set up new portals for extensions and exceptional circumstances (ECS) and update AMP accordingly.
- Marking coordination: Manage the allocation and ensure completion of marking to deadlines
- Exam/Assessment Queries: Serve as the point of contact for exam and assessment-related queries.
- Liaison with other teams: Collaborate with Academic Leads (AL) and Faculty Managers (FM) to ensure smooth assessment operations.
- Training and Process Improvement: Provide training on new processes and liaise with central teams to implement improvements.
- Meeting Attendance: Attend attendance board and pre-board meetings to provide updates and gather feedback.
- Mailbox Management: Handle the assessment mailbox and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assessment Schedule: Create and maintain the assessment schedule to ensure all activities are completed on time.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant educational qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in assessment management within an educational institution.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft tools.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
