Job Introduction
We are looking for a forward thinking, inspiring Senior Agile Delivery Manager to work across our product teams and help us deliver experiences that delight and engage learners during their time studying with BPP and throughout their working lives.
As the Senior Agile Delivery Manager, working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Product Design and Data, you will report to the Head of Agile Delivery, and will split your focus and energy between outcome focussed delivery, increasing team effectiveness and evolving our continuous improvement culture, breaking down barriers, fostering ownership and empowerment, growing transparency and collaboration to develop an outcome focussed, self-sustaining and resilient agile culture within our product teams.
We are especially looking for candidates with previous experience working in a progressive product-focused, agile culture and with a strong focus on outcome based agile planning and delivery, able to empower and motivate teams to learn fast, deliver outcomes effectively and with increasing predictably over.
Key responsibilities
- Actively participate in the evolving agile culture, representing and championing agile delivery across the P&T department and the company
- Servant lead 2-3 agile product teams, ensuring your teams are engaged, effective and efficient
- Craft and communicate outcome focused agile plans, bought into by your team and stakeholders, and with empirical improvement to predictability
- Drive iterative delivery using fast and effective feedback loops, ensuring progress is transparent, taking overall accountability of delivery for your teams
- Identify, reduce and manage dependencies across your teams and at a portfolio level
- Identify and manage pain points, blockers, risks and help coordinate release management
- Support product development your product teams to reflect, learn and continuously evolve their ways of working; focus on outcomes and team cohesion over process
- Implement and drive the adoption of delivery metrics across complex initiatives
- Flex between player and coach to help teams adopt best practices across all ceremonies. Ensure ceremonies are running efficiently whether facilitated by you or other team members
- Help create a no-blame culture rooted in continuous learning and reflection
- Set up Jira, confluence, and other relevant agile tooling to ensure team effectiveness
- Take ownership of career development goals, working with your manager to set out personal development objectives

Essential Skills

- Proven experience in Delivery Management within progressive agile culture, with a focus on agile planning and outcome delivery
- Ability to adapt your delivery approach to meet business needs, and with a high degree of pragmatism
- Demonstrable experience of planning, estimating and delivery metrics for complex initiatives
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of applying a mix of agile/lean approaches, feedback loops and iterative outcome focussed delivery
- Managing dependencies across teams, departments, and 3rd parties
- Track record of delivering business initiatives against organisational KPIs or OKRs
- Ability to coach teams to improve their ways of working and increase their effectiveness
- Supporting sustainable engineering principles to maintain quality while deliveringy value
- Track record of examining processes and practices function-wise and proposing improvements
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient knowledge of Jira, confluence, and other delivery tools
