The BPP Product & Technology (P&T) organisation is evolving rapidly, and driving transformation of its platforms, digital products, and experiences, in order to help BPP Education scale and meet the growth of the business in the coming years.
We are looking for a Senior Agile Delivery Manager to help us deliver experiences that delight and engage learners during their time studying with BPP and beyond, throughout their working lives.
As the Senior Agile Delivery Manager, you will report to the Head of Agile Delivery, implementing best practice delivery processes and culture. Embedded in up to 2 cross-functional product development teams, you will work closely with other functions (Engineering, Product Management, Product Design & Data) to build products that meet and exceed our users’ needs across our education ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Drive pragmatic value delivery for up to two cross-functional product teams
- Implement and drive the adoption of delivery metrics across complex initiatives
- Set up Jira, confluence, and other relevant agile tooling to ensure team effectiveness
- Help identify and manage pain points, blockers, risks, and dependencies; help coordinate release management
- Flex between player and coach to help teams adopt best practices across all ceremonies. Ensure ceremonies are running efficiently whether facilitated by you or other team members
- Support product development teams to reflect, learn and continuously evolve their ways of working; focus on outcomes and team cohesion over process
- Help create a no-blame culture rooted in continuous learning and reflection
- Collaborate closely with peers across P&T to manage planning, reporting and dependency management on a Portfolio level
- Communicate delivery plans, process, metrics, and assumptions to a range of stakeholders
- Represent and champion agile delivery across the P&T department and the company
- Actively participate in the creation of an agile culture, including mentoring junior Delivery Managers
- Take ownership of career development goals, working with your manager to set out personal development objectives
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in Delivery Management
- Proficient knowledge of Jira, confluence, and other delivery tools
- Ability to adapt your delivery approach to meet business needs and a high degree of pragmatism
- Demonstrable experience of planning, estimating and delivery metrics for complex initiatives
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of applying mix of agile/lean approaches
- Managing dependencies across teams, departments, and 3rd parties
- Track record of delivering business initiatives against organisational KPIs
- Ability to coach teams to improve their ways of working and increase their effectiveness
- Supporting sustainable engineering principles to maintain quality while delivery value
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Track record of examining processes and practices function-wise and proposing improvements
