Freelance Proofreader
THE ROLE:
We're looking to expand our pool of Freelance Proofreaders to support the publishing team on an as-needed basis. If you have a sharp eye for detail and proven experience proofreading business, finance, or legal texts, we’d love to hear from you.
While project work may vary depending on peaks and troughs, each assignment will be offered to you with full details of the scope, style requirements, and deadlines – giving you the flexibility to accept or decline depending on your availability. This opportunity is ideal for freelancers who are looking for flexible, project-based work that can be fitted around other commitments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proofread and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all documents, following our house style
- Communicate promptly and professionally if queries or clarifications are required
- Manage deadlines effectively, delivering completed work within agreed timeframes
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Demonstrable experience proofreading (ideally business, finance, or law texts)
- Excellent command of English and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to apply and follow a house style consistently
- Strong time management and reliability in meeting deadlines
- Good digital skills, especially in MS Word, PDF, and CMS
- Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive materials
