An opportunity has arisen for a Digital Learning and AI expert to join our Group Education Services Team, in a pivotal leadership role as our Head of Digital Learning. The foundations are in place, we now need a strategic, forward-thinking leader to enhance the function and drive the next phase of innovation and impact.

You’ll lead the evolution of digital learning across our portfolio, embedding AI into everyday teaching, learning and assessment practice. Working collaboratively with teams in the UK and internationally, you’ll turn bold ideas into reality, empowering staff and students to confidently and creatively use AI.

This role requires a rare blend of educational expertise and technological insight. You’ll horizon-scan emerging trends, influence senior stakeholders, navigate change, and champion inclusive, accessible digital content. From strengthening student digital literacy to raising confidence in Generative AI, you’ll enhance the entire learning journey.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you will drive the strategic embedding of AI and digital innovation within learning, teaching, and assessment activity, actively enhancing discipline-specific practices across the BPP Education Group portfolio.

You will provide the necessary expertise and frameworks for faculty/tutors to integrate technologies into learner-facing activities, whilst also ensuring digital accessibility and driving high content standards across all digital learning platforms.

As such, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the strategic direction, leadership, and development of BPP’s digital learning and education innovation provision, supporting the enhancement of the end-to-end education experience
  • Leading on the continued development and enhancement of policy, practice and guidance in relation to the educational use of digital learning technologies and AI by staff and learners
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders on the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of Generative AI projects and solutions that enhance learning, teaching and assessment activities
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders on the design, development, and delivery of digital learning experiences across the BPP Education Group, acting as a lead point of contact with Product & Technology
  • Working closely with the Learning and Teaching Enhancement team and Talent and Learning team (HR) leading on the development of an integrated strategy for the delivery of staff & student training and development in relation to the use of Generative AI and BPP’s digital learning platforms and technologies
  • Undertaking horizon scanning and sector benchmarking around Generative AI, digital learning and digital accessibility
  • Undertaking research into good practice, developing and maintaining internal/external networks
  • Undertaking scholarly activity in relation to the development and use of Generative AI/digital learning/digital accessibility

 

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within a Higher Education/Private Education environment
  • Experience of developing and delivering generative AI/digital learning solutions to enhance the education experience for staff and learners
  • Experience of monitoring, supporting and evaluating the use of digital learning platforms and technologies
  • Sound knowledge of the current educational issues relating to the use of Generative AI in the design, delivery and evaluation of UK Higher Education & apprenticeships
  • Successful track record of contributing to high levels of learner outcomes and satisfaction
  • Experience of analysing, interpreting, and presenting data to inform the planning and improvement of learner experience initiatives
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and use analytical skills in resolving problems, with confidence in making strategic decisions that influence and lead change
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, that enable you to gain trust and establish credibility with learners and staff at all levels
  • Experience working within regulated and compliance driven environments e.g. Ofsted, OfS
  • Ability to research and convey complex information to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats
