Here at BPP Education Group, we have a dedicated Facilities & Customer Services team who work tirelessly to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of every BPP Centre. Whilst their key function is to safeguard all premises, they also strive to deliver a first-class customer service to our clients, students and colleagues alike.  
     
  As BPP continues to grow, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, diligent and personable individual to join the team as a Health, Safety & Business Continuity Officer. This is a dynamic role that calls on a wide range of skills, and demands great people skills. The ability to prioritise and work well under pressure is essential, as is a keen attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Provide expert guidance on health & safety legislation, develop and maintain site-wide policies, and lead audits, training, and compliance initiatives.
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through staff engagement, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration with external agencies and regulators.
  • Support strategic planning and continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Implement and maintain the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) in line with ISO 22301, including risk assessments, BCP development, and crisis response.
  • Lead and support business continuity exercises, maintain documentation, and ensure departmental readiness.
  • Analyse Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data to support BPP’s net zero commitment, and identify opportunities for environmental improvement.
  • Coordinate sustainability projects, conduct environmental audits, and integrate eco-conscious practices into operations.
  • Centralise reporting on environmental initiatives and lead awareness campaigns to promote sustainability across the organisation.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience in health and safety roles, with exposure to business continuity and environmental initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (or be prepared to obtain upon hire).
  • Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Strong organisational and project management abilities

 

Desirable: 

  • Experience of working to ISO 22301 principles.
  • Experience in the education or professional services sector.
  • Familiarity with environmental reporting frameworks and sustainability practices.
