UKVI Compliance Manager

Job Introduction

JOB PURPOSE

The UKVI Compliance Manager post supports a key part of the international student journey. Following successful enrolment, BPP University must ensure that we are compliant with UKVI reporting requirements relating to on-programme activity and processes.

The post holder will therefore be accountable for ensuring that all students are appropriately tracked and managed through this phase of their journey and will lead a team of visa compliance officers who are responsible for reporting any changes of circumstances in a timely manner.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The post holder will:

  • Line manage the UKVI Compliance Officers, including training, performance management and development.
  • Act as escalation for complex visa related queries from the team and support the Head of International Service Delivery in triaging UKVI queries.
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders to ensure data synergy between BPP internal systems and the UKVI Sponsorship Management System (SMS).
  • Monitor SLAs on reporting of changes of circumstance to ensure compliance with Sponsor Guidance.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and support internal teams with any process changes affecting visa compliance duties.

The above constitutes the major activities but is not a comprehensive or exclusive list of the duties required and all members of staff are expected to work as part of the Compliance Services team. Duties may vary from time to time, which reflect BPP’s priorities but do not change the general character of the job or the level of responsibility entailed.  

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR ROLE

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of immigration compliance or experience working in a compliance setting
  • Line management experience 
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM systems
  • Ability to work with speed and accuracy
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Commitment to, and responsibility for, meeting strict deadlines
  • Able to build good working relationships across all levels

 

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the Higher Education sector
  • Experience and knowledge of Student route visa compliance
  • Competent user of the SMS UKVI reporting system 
  • Understanding of other immigration rules and regulations
  • Experience of monitoring and reporting data
