The School of Healthcare and Nursing is a key academic division within BPP University, focused on delivering practice-based education for healthcare professionals. Its mission is to bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring graduates are fully prepared for the demands of modern healthcare.
 
 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic individual to join as a Clinical Skills Technician. Working as part of the wider nursing faculty team, you will take primary responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and technical support of BPP University’s Clinical Skills Centres.

This is a hands-on and varied position, ideal for someone self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning. As BPP University expands its healthcare and nursing provision, this role offers exciting opportunities for professional growth.

Regular travel to centres including Waterloo, Bristol, Southampton, and Doncaster is required, with flexibility to support additional locations as the portfolio evolves.

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and support skills and simulation activities across school sites, working closely with faculty.
  • Prepare and maintain simulation suites and equipment for teaching sessions.
  • Manage stock levels, equipment databases, and oversee servicing, repairs, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and audit requirements.
  • Provide technical and logistical support to staff and students, including orientation and AV recording/editing of training sessions.
  • Develop and maintain accessible learning resources for student self-study.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical skills provision through recommendations and implementation.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:


  • BSc Nursing (Any field) or equivalent qualification
  • Current and up to date NMC registration
  • Professional experience in a clinical or simulated learning environment
  • Recent and up to date clinical or educational practice
  • Student supervision and assessment and simulated practice learning

 

Desirable:

  • Teaching experience either in clinical practice or higher education
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations and risk assessment.
