In this role you would be a key contributor in the implementation of BPPs Mental Health and Wellbeing strategy. By engaging directly with students you will ensure they have access to, and engage with, all the support they need during their studies.

What you’ll be doing 

 

In this role you would be the first staff member approached by students with non-academic problems, supporting students experiencing social or emotional issues and helping them resolve queries with the support of local and specialist teams across the group. 

 

As such, you will be responsible for: 

 

  • Respond appropriately to disclosures and concerns which relate to the wellbeing of a student in a timely manner. To ensure all vulnerable students are supported appropriately and sensitively.

 

  • Manage a diverse caseload of students, prioritising those with complex needs and safeguarding concerns for referral to Safeguarding or other services as appropriate.

 

  • Act as point of contact for learners requiring support of a counselling service and carry out initial assessments as required.

 

  • Deliver one-to-one wellbeing support to students, providing a confidential, non-judgemental listening service to students and learners, informed by evidence-based practice, policy and procedure.

 

  • Keeping daily records according to BPP Group policies and procedures and maintaining accurate records, analysing, understanding and presenting data, always ensuring confidentiality.

 

 

What experience you’ll need 

 

To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas: 

 

  • Experienced working in a student-facing capacity preferably with a large, complex organisation.

 

  • Experience of working in a multi-agency team approach, with the ability to build effective working relationships and partnerships.

 

  • Clear understanding and professional awareness in relation to data protection/GDPR requirements, dealing with highly confidential information, safeguarding and duty of care responsibilities.

 

  • Resilient, confident and passionate about improving wellbeing and mental health.

 

  • Excellent attention to detail, with ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.

 

  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills and ability to see projects through to a successful outcome.

 

 

How will this process work? 

 

The interview process for this position will consist of the following stages: 
 

  • Competency style interview with two team members – 60 minutes
